Sydni Deveraux: WordPress

Why It Works: Sydni regularly updates with useful burlesque advice and interesting musings on her life as a touring performer. Her unique view on being a modern performer is one that cannot be duplicated.

Michelle L’amour: Twitter

Why It Works: Michelle’s wonderful usage of the hashtag “#TeaseTip” is well-known amongst other performers and on Twitter in general. It is widely used and retweeted regularly. She engages with her audience, updates regular performer information (where she will be performing, etc), and has a clean-looking layout.

Vita Devoid: Instagram

Why It Works: Vita uses both video and picture to show her adventures in burlesque on her Instagram. Since burlesque is such a visual art form, this is an incredibly powerful strategy. Her videos often show her pre-show makeup routine or her having fun making silly faces – two things that make her unique in a sea of burlesque dancers on IG.

Tito Bonito: YouTube

Why It Works: Tito posts more than just performer videos. He also collaborates with other performers such as Jeez Loueez, he has a mini-series where he documents his travels as a performer, and he has a stellar promo video on his front page.

Frostine Shake: Tumblr

Why It Works: Frostine has an extremely gorgeous, clean layout with very inviting colors and links. Her bio is fun and brings in the viewer. She updates pictures regularly and organically through the website instead of updating solely through Instagram or another social media website. She answers questions in a friendly fashion and is active on the website.

siobhan-atomica-8-performers-kicking-social-medias-ass

Siobhan Atomica: Pinterest

Why It Works: Siobhan shares her burlesque knowledge via her Pinterest. She is pretty much cornering the market on burlesque on Pinterest because so few of us use it as a tool to reach other people. Siobhan is great example of someone who is using her social media to simultaneously educate people about her art form and to reach new fans.

dita-von-teese-8-performers-kicking-social-medias-ass

Dita Von Teese: Vine

Why It Works: Dita has virtually completely cornered the burlesque Vine market. When looking up burlesque dancers on Vine, most of the accounts were made but no activity – which is very surprising considering how visual burlesque is but I believe that most performers are confused on how to actively use Vine to promote their brand. Dita, however, completely understands how to use it to her advantage: filming her backstage adventures, sneak peeks on costumes, and showing the items she has to sell are just some of the ways she has conquered Vine. Bonus Shout-Out to Miss Audacious and her Tumblr. It was difficult to pick just one Tumblr to promote. Miss Audacious uses her Tumblr to show off her many unique talents via videos and pictures, which is perfect for Tumblr.

Summary:

What do all of these have in common? They all have a clear view of their own personal style, a website attached to their page, they are promoting their brand, and they use free tools online to further their success. This proves that any social media website – not just Facebook – can be used to promote yourself as a performer. Using non-conventional methods to promote yourself on these websites make you stand out as a performer, too.

Review: Exposed Skin Care Acne Products + Coupons

One of the best ways to determine whether a product is worth trying is to read through reviews of someone who have already used it. For instance, the Exposed Skin Care reviews on Amazon can really provide you with an understanding of how the product works. It has been given an overall rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars, which is excellent, especially with a product that has over 200 actual customer reviews. My friend Jacey, an Exposed Skin Care user, titled her review “Exposed – Great Product!” Prior to trying Exposed system, Jacey suffered from acne for a very long time. The previous products she tried caused a variety of side effects, from severely dry skin to actually increasing her acne rather than reducing it. When she tried Exposed, she was very pleased to find that it cleared her skin up very well and without all the harsh chemicals she was accustomed to. This is one of the most helpful Exposed Skin Care reviews, and the 5-star rating highlights how pleased this user was. This
